Owners of old cars warned of possible deregistration
Owners of cars manufactured before 2014 may be checked by road inspectors for faults that may prevent further operation of the vehicle, DEITA.RU reports. Owners of such cars may be deregistered from the State Automobile Inspectorate.
Possible reasons for a fine may include LED headlights, faulty ABS, and the use of tires that are not appropriate for the season. Drivers who violate the rules may not only be fined, but also have their cars towed to a penalty parking lot, and in some cases, have their registration cancelled.
It was previously reported that in 2024, more than 37% of car services encountered counterfeit goods . Electronic units for DSG boxes and airbags are not counterfeited, as this is a complex production. However, the simpler the part, the easier it is to manufacture it using cheap and low-quality materials, experts warn.
Ilya Plisov, a member of the Union of Automotive Services and Deputy General Director of EuroAuto, previously said that the outgoing brands of automotive engine oils are counterfeited in the amount of about 50% . According to him, every second canister of oil costs less than the economically justified price level.
