Delegation from Myanmar arrived in Samara region

At the Samara airport , the region welcomed the delegation from Myanmar , headed by Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing, with bread and salt. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the regional administration.

The purpose of the Myanmar delegation’s visit to Russia was to become acquainted with the achievements of the Russian rocket and space industry.

On March 4, Min Aung Hlaing flew to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin . The politician met not only with the Russian leader, but also with the head of the Russian government Mikhail Mishustin , as well as with the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin . The main topic of conversation was the issues of friendship and cooperation between the two states.

In particular, during a meeting with Mishustin, Min Aung Hlaing announced plans to open two Myanmar consulates general in the Russian Federation to improve diplomatic relations between the countries. He also called for opening a Russian consulate general in the Myanmar city of Mandalay . Following the meetings, Putin announced that Myanmar military personnel would take part in the Victory Parade in Moscow .
